The Health Visiting Service provides parents and carers with support for themselves and their child as they begin to grow.
\nThis support includes:<\/p>\n
\tDuring your pregnancy at 28-32 weeks
\n \tBetween 10-14 day of baby\u2019s birth
\n \tSix-eight weeks after your baby\u2019s birth
\n \tWhen your child turns one. This will be a developmental review by a health visitor or early years practitioner

Health visitors are part of Enfield\\’s 0-19 Service covering Enfield, and work in locality based teams. Each team provides care and support from community locations that are accessible to families accessing the service.
\nYour health visitor can help you with anything you are concerned about:<\/p>\n

\n \tYour family\u2019s health
\n \tPostnatal depression
\n \tAll the usual things that you might want help and advice on with a new baby, including feeding, sleeping, crying, minor ailments, and when to see a doctor.<\/p>\n
Your health visitor will also monitor your baby\u2019s development, and weigh and measure your baby. Your health visitor will record visits in your child\u2019s personal health record book \u2013 this may be your \u2018red book\u2019, or an electronic version, called an \u2018e-red book\u2019.<\/p>\n
Your health visitor will also record their name and contact details in your red book, so you know how to contact them and when you can see them, and how to get help if they are not available.<\/p>\n
Every family with a child under 5 that lives in Enfield will be allocated a health visitor. Anyone can refer to the service including GP, midwifes and schools. Parents can also refer themselves by contacting their Health Visiting Team by phone requesting a home visit or telephone contact.
\nHealthy Child Clinics
\nEnfield\u2019s Health visitors run Healthy Child Clinics which are drop-ins where you can have baby or your child weighed and speak to a health visitor for advice and information.<\/p>\n
