Free parenting courses on the theme of Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities are being made available to couples, carers and family members across Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n
What is EPEC?<\/p>\n
Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a volunteer-led, evidence-based parenting programme.<\/p>\n
Each session is delivered by two Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) who have received 60 hours training to deliver EPEC courses.<\/p>\n
Sessions aim to empower parents to share experiences, learn new skills and practice these alongside other parents.<\/p>\n
There are 2 courses which are available both face-to-face and via MS Teams, so offer variety and flexibility depending on childcare\/parent commitments:<\/p>\n
\t\u2018Being a Parent\u2019 \u2013 9, 2-hour sessions over 9 weeks
\n \t\u2018Being a parent together\u2019 \u2013 10, 2-hour sessions over 10 weeks<\/p>\n
Who is it suitable for?<\/p>\n
Any couples, parents, carers or family members who care for children under 12.<\/p>\n
Parents are supported and encouraged to try new parenting techniques each week and share the outcomes with other parents.<\/p>\n
