Below are some top tips to encourage fussy eaters.<\/p>\n<p> \tChildren learn by copying \u2013 eat with your child as often as you can and give them the same food as the rest of the family.<br \/>\n \tLimit the number of snacks so that your child is hungry at meal time.<br \/>\n \tIf your child refuses food, don\u2019t force them to eat it. Reintroduce the food at another time as your child\u2019s taste changes over time.<br \/>\n \tGive small portions and be patient as your child may be a slow eater.<br \/>\n \tInvolve your child in preparing meals \u2013 a child is more likely to try food if they were involved in the preparation.<br \/>\n \tMake mealtimes fun \u2013 don\u2019t limit conversation to talking about food.<br \/>\n \tHave regular mealtimes \u2013 don\u2019t leave it until your child is too tired to eat.<br \/>\n \tInvite an adult your child likes for meals as a child is more likely to eat for someone else.<br \/>\n \tHide vegetables in sauces.<br \/>\n \tLeave the fruit bowl out for your child to help themselves.<br \/>\n \tDon\u2019t forget to praise your child for eating!<\/p>\n<p>Also remember it is important to be patient as it may take many attempts before your child accepts some foods.<\/p>\n<p>For further advice or support please contact your School Nurses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is normal for children to refuse to eat or taste new food.
