The School Nursing Service works in partnership with children, young people and their families to ensure that children\u2019s health needs are supported within their school and their community.<\/p>\n
School Nurses also work closely with Education, Social Care and other health professionals, including GP\u2019s and Community Paediatricians to help children and young people to remain healthy and to ensure that any health needs are met.<\/p>\n
We work for the NHS and are based in the community. We provide a nurse-led service to all children from 5 years old through to 19 years old. This includes support to children who are \u2018Educated at Home\u2019.<\/p>\n
Public Health School Nurse\u00a0\u2013 a registered nurse who has a further specialist qualification in public health at degree or masters level.<\/p>\n
Community Staff Nurse\/School Staff Nurse\u00a0\u2013 a registered nurse with additional experience in public health, child health and development.<\/p>\n
Clinical Support Workers \u2013 have experience and specific training to work with children and young people in schools and in the community, they work with the supervision of a School Nurse.<\/p>\n
School Health Screeners- provide the National Child Measurement programme.<\/p>\n
