These are short sessions which\u00a0are a good introduction to\u00a0our service and provide\u00a0useful tips and hints of strategies that you can try at home.<\/p>\n<p>Parent Groups<br \/>\nResilience group<br \/>\nStress, anxiety and depression are common mental health difficulties which can affect anyone. Parenting is a demanding job and these problems can make parenting even more of challenge. We deliver an Adult Resilience Groupwhich is part of the FRIENDS programme and is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills to help improve confidence and self esteem.<br \/>\nParenting Groups<br \/>\nWe offer three types of parenting groups<\/p>\n<p>Understanding your child parenting group<br \/>\nis for parents\/carers who would like to meet other parents and explore ways to help promote positive behaviour in their child<\/p>\n<p>Triple P parenting group focuses on positive parenting and offers different strategies and approaches to address specific problems. You will also have access to telephones consultations with a facilitator to tailor the strategies to the needs of you and your child.<\/p>\n<p>The Cygnet Parenting group is for parents\/carers who have a child with a diagnosis of autism. This is good opportunity to meet with other parents who have similar challenges. You will be able to learn and share ideas and strategies to support your child.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>Children and young peoples groups<br \/>\nWe provide FRIENDS groups\u00a0which teach children and young people the skills to improve their confidence and self-esteem. These programmes are delivered across all age groups.<\/p>\n<p>Fun FRIENDS 4-6 years old<\/p>\n<p>FRIENDS for Life \u00a07-11 years old<\/p>\n<p>Teen FRIENDS for Life  13 years +.<\/p>\n<p>The programmes have a strong evidence base. More details about the FRIENDS programmes can be found at https:\/\/www.friendsresilience.org\/<\/p>\n<p>Our Anger Management group is for primary aged children who would like to learn about angry and frustrating feelings and how to manage these feelings in a helpful way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Individual assessments for children and young people<\/p>\n<p>School Nurses have additional training and experience of working with children and young people to assess difficulties with emotional health and\/or behaviour. We encourage a child or young person to attend one of our groups and a parent\/carers to attend our\u00a0workshops or groups. If a child or young person is still experiencing problems after accessing these interventions then we will invite the parent\/carer to bring their child to a health review. The\u00a0School Nurse can\u00a0commence as assessment of their child\\&#8217;s needs. We work closely with other health colleagues in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Community Paediatricians and Therapies and we may refer\u00a0a child or young person\u00a0to one of these services.<\/p>\n<p>Text Service for parents.<\/p>\n<p>We offer a confidential, anonymous text service called Parent ChatHealth\u00a0This is a messaging service for parents who can text a school nurse for advice on health matters. Our text number is 07520 634 909. We can provide a range of information, sign post to other services or offer to see the parent face to face if requested to do so. Parents and carers can be reassured that this is a safe and secure text service.<br \/>\nSafety disclaimer \u201cWe might inform someone if we were concerned about your safety but we would usually speak to you first. Your messages are stored and can be seen by other health care staff who follow the same confidentiality rules, We aim to reply to you within one working day and you should get an immediate message back to confirm we have received your text. Text will only be seen between 9am and 5pm. If you need help before you hear back from us contact your GP, nearest walk in centre or dial 111. Our text number does not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. We support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (which does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some \\&#8217;number masking\\&#8217; mobile apps). To prevent the health professional from sending messages to you, text STOP to our number.
