Enfield’s Health Visiting Service delivers three HENRY workshops aimed at supporting parents with essential advice and information.

Fussy Eating

Equips parents with skills and strategies to manage fussy eating. The workshop looks at:

  • Enjoying mealtimes together as a family
  • Responsive feeding
  • Portion sizes
  • Cutting out grazing
  • Balancing food groups

Understanding Children’s Behaviour

Help parents understand the needs and feelings that drive children’s behaviour, and gain strategies to help everyone stay calm and find solutions. The workshop looks at:

  • Understanding feelings and needs behind children’s behaviour
  • Parenting styles – balancing being in charge and being responsive
  • Using evidence-based parenting skills to hold boundaries and encourage cooperation:
  • Collective family rewards
  • Guided choices
  • Descriptive guidance and praise

Healthy Teeth workshop

Helps parents understand the effect sugar can have on tooth decay and which foods and drinks are safe for teeth. The workshop looks at:

  • Understanding the importance of first teeth and effective tooth brushing
  • Increasing awareness of how to access and when to visit a dentist
