Measles is circulating in communities in North London, with a number of cases having been identified recently. To help reduce the risk of further measles cases, the UK Health Security Agency is advising everyone to be alert to signs and symptoms and urge people to check their families are fully vaccinated against measles. Measles is highly contagious and can be a serious, life-threatening disease for people of any age. Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide lifelong protection against measles, mumps and rubella. If you have not had the MMR vaccination, please contact your GP practice.
