Your child should have been offered immunisations at regular points in their first five years of life.

You can check which vaccinations the NHS recommends and when on the NHS website

Your child starting school is a good time to check their immunisation status. This should be recorded in their red book. If you have any questions, please contact your GP practice.

Children’s Flu vaccine

Your child will be offered the Flu vaccine during their first term in school. The vaccine is given as a spray squirted up each nostril. Children with long-term health conditions or severe allergies to any component of the vaccine can be offered the vaccine at their GP surgery.

  • You can find a full list of the ingredients in the Fluenz Tetra nasal spray online
  • Further information about the Flu vaccine is available on the NHS website
