Children and Family Health Devon have partnered with BFB Labs to offer free access to Lumi Nova; a best-in-class (MHRA-registered and NICE-recommended) digital therapeutic intervention to enable timely support for childhood anxiety. It comes in the format of a personalised digital therapeutic game co-designed with children, parents, NHS clinicians, and experts in mental health, human-centred design, and digital technology.

This infographic shows two young people in a green space noticing the sky and a shooting star and shares the benefits of using Lumi Nova.

Lumi Nova provides a fun, self-guided, interactive game experience to help you and your child work together to effectively overcome childhood anxiety. It equips young minds with life-long skills to deal with worries and stresses with you acting as their co-pilot. It’s super easy to use and can be accessed on-demand 24/7 from the comfort of a child’s home.

It’s been developed for 7-12 year olds with mild to moderate anxiety, who are not in crisis, although this is not an exclusive age range. It’s based on the therapeutic approach of graded exposure and offer a choice of 15 goals linked to social anxiety, separation anxiety and phobias that are the most common goals for children of this age. Each goal is broken down into a challenge ladder of 7-10 steps, with some steps taking place in the digital world and other is the ‘real world’.

You can find out more in the following game trailer and by reading Kelly and Erin’s story. You can read more about how it has helped other children and families here.

You do not need a referral to access this or meet any criteria (other than to not be in crisis). Sign up is via a simple form that can be found on the CFHD website or via QR code.
