Preparing you, your child and your family for starting primary school

How you can help prepare:

  • Check your child has received their pre-school vaccination and their second MMR from the GP before starting school.
  • You will receive an NCMP and school entry screening letter with information.
  • Tell the school if your child has a health need before they start school​.
  • Medicines, inhalers and medical equipment should be clearly labelled and in date.​
  • If your child has a Care Plan for a health condition, please provide the school with an up-to-date plan at the beginning of the term​.
  • Ensure your child is registered at and attending the dentist regularly.
  • Ensure your child is registered at and attending the opticians regularly.
