Mental Health Support Teams

The Mental Health Support Team is a service available in certain schools across Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw.

The Mental Health Support Team are an early intervention wellbeing service.

It is aimed at providing support for children, young people and families around low-level emotional wellbeing needs, such as anxiety, low mood, managing emotions, and sleep.

They link in directly with the Nottinghamshire CAMHS teams and provide ‘in school’ sessions to promote positive mental health.

The schools included in this project will have a designated Mental Health Lead,  who can refer directly into the Mental Health Support Team, alongside parents and young people themselves

For a list of the primary, secondary and special schools taking part in this pilot, please click on the link below.

If your child’s school is on the list and you’d like some support for low-level emotional wellbeing or mental health needs for your child, please contact the school and ask to speak to their Mental Health Lead.

Alternatively, you can phone the Nottinghamshire CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) on 01158542299 and make a self-referral specifically for telephone support from your school’s Mental Health Support Team.
