Giving parents and carers more confidence in dealing with minor conditions.

Doctors in Devon are reminding parents to consult the HANDi paediatric app if you are not sure what to do when your child is unwell.

The free app, available to download onto any Apple or Android device, was launched specifically with children in mind and is loaded with expert advice, support and guidance for parents with concerns about their children.

The app contains information about when and how to ask for help, along with what to expect when your child is being assessed.

Parents generally don’t want to take their children to A&E unless it’s absolutely necessary – but often they end up there because they are not sure what else to do.

This app gives you more confidence in dealing with minor conditions at home.

When you use the app, you will be asked a series of questions about the symptoms your child is experiencing. The app then advises you on the best course of action, whether that is to treat at home, to make a GP appointment, or to head to A&E.
