Within the School Nursing Service we work with other health professionals  to ensure that the appropriate information is shared with your school so that you receive the support and care that you need whilst in school.  If you need a care plan in school, to support your medical needs then the school nurse can work with the health professionals who are treating your health needs to ensure this is in place. We will only share information about your health with non-health professionals if we have your permission to do so.

There is statutory guidance for schools as to how they should work together with parents/carer and health professionals to support pupils with medical needs. Our service provides training for school staff about supporting children with medical needs. Each school should have a member of staff who has attended this training.
